Mattias Clement (born January 19, 1988 in Vancouver , British Columbia , Canada ) is a Canadian wrestler . He is currently under contract with World Wrestling Entertainment , where he competes at NXT under the name Tyler Breeze .

Career

Independent (2007-2010)

In 2007, Clement made his Power Zone Wrestling debut under the name Mattias Wild. In 2008 he began wrestling at NWA Extreme Canadian Championship. Meanwhile he was trained in Calgary by Lance Storm. In 2009 he took part in the ECCW Pacific Cup, but lost in the first round. That same year, Clement vied for the ECCW Tag Team Championship, but failed to win the title. In 2010 he also wrestled for the Prairie Wrestling Alliance.

WWE

Florida Championship Wrestling (2010-2012)

Clement signed with WWE in 2010 and made his debut for the Florida Championship Wrestling Development League on December 2 . He made his TV debut under the name Mike Dalton on July 17, 2011 with a loss to Alexander Rusev . On November 17, Dalton won his first match at FCW against Peter Orlov. On December 15, he won a Battle Royal to compete for the FCW Florida Heavyweight Championship. He challenged Leo Kruger, but lost the match. On February 2, 2012, Dalton won the FCW Heavyweight Championship after beating Leo Kruger. However, his reign came to an end after 21 days in a rematch against Kruger.

When WWE made FCW NXT , Dalton made his debut as a jobber alongside CJ Parker, losing to The Ascension. On August 1, Dalton and Jason Jordan defeated the team of Hunico and Camacho, but the two lost a rematch on August 29.

NXT (2012-2015)

On July 24, 2013, Clement made his debut with the gimmick Tyler Breeze, a narcissistic model who takes selfies all the time. He feuded for a few weeks against Adrian Neville for the NXT Championship , but could not get the title. At NXT TakeOver, he defeated Sami Zayn and thus earned a match for the NXT Championship. Breeze won the match against Adrian Neville for the NXT Championship on August 14, 2014 by disqualification, because Tyson Kidd attacked Sami Zayn. In Takeover: Fatal 4-Way he fought in a Fatal-Four-Way match against Adrian Neville , Tyson Kidd, Sami Zayn for the NXT Championship and lost.

At the NXT edition on January 21, 2015, Breeze lost to Hideo Itami in the first round of a tournament to determine the new challenger for the NXT Championship . In the April 1, 2015 edition of NXT, Breeze won a Two Out Of Three Falls match against Hideo Itami 2-1. At TakeOver: Brooklyn he lost a match against Jushin Thunder Liger . In the September 9th edition of NXT, he and Bull Dempsey participated in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament. In the first round they lost to Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa and were eliminated in the first round. In the October 14, 2015 edition of NXT, Breeze intervened in a Battle Royal and prevented Samoa Joe from winning . In the October 28 issue, he lost to Samoa Joe. In TakeOver: Respect , Breeze lost to Apollo Crews .

Main roster (2015-2019)

On October 22, 2015, he made his debut on SmackDown alongside Summer Rae in a MizTV segment in which he attacked Dolph Ziggler , his debut on the main roster. At the November 9, 2015 WWE Raw edition, he took part in the tournament for the vacant WWE World Heavyweight Championship . In the first round he lost to Dean Ambrose . He beat R-Truth on the November 16 edition of Raw . Then he continued his feud against Dolph Ziggler. On November 22, 2015, he defeated Dolph Ziggler in the Survivor Series . After that he started a feud against Goldust . In the December 31, 2015 edition of Smackdown, he defeated Goldust. After the match, he and Summer Rae announced that they would go their separate ways from now on.

On April 3, 2016 he took part in Wrestlemania 32 in the André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. After Wrestlemania he formed the tag team The Gorgeous Truth for a short time with R- Truth . He defeated Goldust and ended his losing streak. In the May 12, 2016 edition of Smackdown, The Gorgeous Truth defeated Team Goldango Fandango and Goldust after Fandango did gymnastics against his partner. After the match, Breeze also did gymnastics against his partner and since then he and Fandango have formed the Breezango Tag Team . On April 16, 2018, Breezango was drafted to Raw as part of the 2018 Superstar Shake-up . After injuring his Tag Team Partner in 2018, Breeze was hardly ever represented in matches.

Return to NXT (since 2019)

As a result, he was transferred back to NXT as part of the 2019 Superstar Shake Up . On June 1, 2019, he played a match against The Velveteen Dream for its NXT North American Championship , but Breeze lost this match. On August 26, 2020, he and Fandango won the NXT Tag Team Championship from Imperium Marcel Barthel and Fabian Aichner .
