resume

Barthel was born on July 8, 1990 as the sixth child of the German wrestling legend Axel Dieter Sr. Barthel, the only child of Axel Dieter Sr., decided to pursue a career as a professional wrestler. Because there were only a few opportunities to learn and practice wrestling professionally in Germany in the new millennium, Barthel, on the advice of his father, began to train boxing in order to gain a foothold in martial arts. At the age of 13 he moved to Hanover with his family . There he devoted himself to amateur wrestling.

He completed his first wrestling training at Christian Eckstein's wrestling school in Hanover. After graduating from secondary school, he moved to Hamburg at the age of 17 . There he continued his training under Karsten Kretschmer, who finally shaped his wrestling. At that time he decided, in adoration of his father, for the ring name Axel Dieter Jr.
