Wrestling career

Beginnings

Jorge Arias began his career on November 21, 1999. His first more important matches he played in 2005 under the ring name Incognito at the Mexican wrestling promotion AAA .

In the following years he appeared mainly in independent US leagues (including National Wrestling Alliance , Chikara Pro Wrestling and Ring of Honor ). On December 15, 2009, Arias debuted as part of an edition of the ECW show at WWE . However, it stayed with this one-off appearance for the time being.

WWE (2009-2019)

Florida Championship Wrestling (2009-2011)

From March 2010 Arias appeared in the WWE Development League Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) under his new ring name Hunico . On March 11, 2010 Jorge Arias made his debut at FCW in a six-man tag team match , which he was allowed to win on the side of Johnny Prime and Orlando Colón .

Then he formed with Colón, the first in Dos Equis and later in Epico was renamed, the tag team Los Aviadores . Together with this he won the FCW Florida Tag Team Championship on June 3, 2010 from the team The Uso Brothers (Jimmy Uso and Jules Uso). They gave the titles to Kaval and Michael McGillicutty on July 15, but received them back one day later from them. On August 12, 2010, they lost the title for good. The team was disbanded at the end of June 2011.

Sin Cara Negro and Feud Against Sin Cara Azul (2011)

Almost two months later, on August 9, 2011, Arias made his debut at SmackDown and was promoted to the main roster of WWE . From then on he appeared under the ring name Sin Cara , as the "original" Sin Cara Luis Alvirde had been suspended for 30 days for violating the WWE wellness program. However, on September 13, Alvirde returned to SmackDown and faced Arias. As a result , the two feuded as Sin Cara Azul ( Alvirde with a blue mask) and Sin Cara Negro (Arias with a black mask) . The feud resulted in a mask vs. mask match at SmackDown on October 16, 2011, which Arias lost and thus had to relinquish his mask and the Sin Cara character.

Tag Team with Camacho (2011-2013)

He then appeared again as the now unmasked Hunico . On November 20, 2011, he took part in Team Barrett in a traditional 5 vs. 5 Survivor Series match at the WWE major event of the same name, in which he was eliminated by Randy Orton . On January 29, 2012, he took part in the Royal Rumble Match of the event of the same name, from which he was eliminated by Kharma .

In April 2012, Arias teamed up with Camacho on a storyline , now with a new gimmick inspired by Mexican gangsters . With Camacho, Arias also appeared several times in the new WWE Development League, NXT Wrestling . It followed - together with this - the continuation of the feud against Sin Cara, which he finally lost on June 17, 2012 in the pay-per-view No Way Out .

Between late July 2012 and early April 2013, Arias took a break from wrestling for reasons unknown. On April 4, 2013, he returned at a house show back in WWE. He then feuded at WWE NXT together with Camacho against The Ascension (Konnor and Viktor) for the NXT Tag Team Championship , but continued to appear in the main grid.

Returns as Sin Cara and The Lucha Dragons (2013-2016)

Since December 2013, Arias has been performing again with his old gimmick Sin Cara , as Luis Alvirde was fired from WWE in March 2014. From June 2014, he returned mainly to NXT, where he formed the tag team The Lucha Dragons with Kalisto . From August 2014, the two feuded against The Ascension for the NXT Tag Team Championship . On September 11, 2014 , they won the title at the major NXT event NXT TakeOver: Fatal-4-Way .

This was followed by feuds against The Vaudevillains (Aiden English and Simon Gotch) and against the team of Buddy Murphy and Wesley Blake, to whom they had to surrender the titles on January 15, 2015.

On March 30, 2015, Jorge Arias played a match with Kalisto on Raw and thus returned to the main roaster. On May 31, they took part in the big event of the same name in an Elimination Chamber Match for the WWE Tag Team Championship , but were eliminated as the second team by The Ascension . On August 23, they fought again unsuccessfully for the tag team title at SummerSlam in a fatal four-way match .

There was together with Neville a feud of Lucha Dragons against Stardust and The Ascension , against which they on September 20 at Night of Champions in a six-man team match day lost . However, they won the rematch on Raw a day later .

On November 22, 2015, Kalisto and Arias competed in a team with Ryback and The Usos (Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso) in a traditional 5 vs. 5 Survivor Series match at the event of the same name, which they were allowed to win. Arias eliminated King Barrett before he was eliminated by Sheamus . They then feuded against The Usos and the champions The New Day ( Big E , Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods ) again for the WWE Tag Team Championship . On December 13, they lost a triple threat ladder match for the tag team title against these two teams at TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs .

Various feuds (2016-2019)

At the end of December 2015, Arias injured his shoulder in a single match against Big E and had to pause for a few weeks. After his return, Arias appeared again as a single wrestler, as his partner Kalisto had won the WWE United States Championship during his injury break . At WrestleMania 32 on April 3, 2016, he took part in a seven-man ladder match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship , but could not win the title.

The WWE Draft on July 19, 2016 made Arias part of Raw . However, he was finally separated from his previous partner Kalisto, who was drafted after SmackDown , so that the tag team The Lucha Dragons was dissolved.

As a result of the superstar shake-up , Arias switched to SmackDown Live on April 11, 2017 . He extended his long-term contract in November, but was still out due to an injury. As part of the WWE Draft, Cara moved from SmackDown to Raw on October 13, 2019 . On December 8, 2019, his dismissal request was granted and his contract was released.
