Orlando Tito Colón (born March 24, 1982 in San Juan , Puerto Rico ), better known by his ring name Epico, is a Puerto Rican wrestler . He is currently under contract with the WWE .

His greatest achievement to date has been receiving the WWE Tag Team Championship . Colón is the nephew of wrestling legend Carlos Colón and the cousin of Edwin Colón (aka Primo), who is also under contract with WWE, and the former WWE wrestler Carlos Colón Jr. (aka Carlito) .

Career

World Wrestling Council

In 2006, Colón made his debut for the Puerto Rican wrestling league World Wrestling Council , his uncle's wrestling league . There he appeared under the ring name Fire Blaze and his real name Orlando Colón. At WWC he won the WWC Puerto Rico Heavyweight Championship six times and the WWC Caribbean Heavyweight Championship once .

WWE

In 2010 Colón moved to WWE . Colón was first used in the FCW . At FCW he got his ring name Epico. At FCW he formed the Los Aviadores tag team with Hunico . Los Aviadores won the FCW Florida Tag Team Championship twice at FCW . After Los Aviadore broke up, he was given the ring name Tito Colon. As Tito Colon, he formed the stable The Ascension with Raquel Diaz, Conor O'Brian and Kenneth Cameron . He left the stable when he got promoted to the Smackdown roster . During his ascent to the main roaster, he got his old ring name Epico again.

Since November 8, 2011, he has formed a tag team with his cousin Primo , with Rosa Mendes at her side. On January 15, 2012 at a house show the RAW roster , they won by Air Boom ( Kofi Kingston to and Evan Bourne) WWE Tag Team Championship . They lost the title at RAW on April 30, 2012 to R-Truth and Kofi Kingston.

In January 2013 they took part in the tournament for the newly created NXT Tag Team Championship . They failed in the first round to Bo Dallas and Michael McGillicutty .

In September 2013, Colón and his cousin got new gimmicks and ring names. From then on he appeared as Fernando, while his cousin was given the ring name Diego. Among their new gimmicks, they formed the Tag Team Los Matadores , only that they were no longer accompanied by Rosa Mendes, but by El Torito. They vied for the WWE Tag Team Championship several times , but could not win the title. On September 7, 2015, they split from El Torito after losing to the Dudley Boyz . After Wrestlemania 31 , they were no longer used on TV.

On May 4, 2016 they got their old ring names back, so that he appears again as Epico and his cousin as Primo. They got a new name for their tag team. From now on they appear as The Shining Stars . They made their return to the ring on the May 16, 2016 edition of Raw when they defeated two local jobbers Scott Jackson and Brian Kennedy.

On July 19, 2016 at Smackdown, where the WWE draft took place, the Shining Stars were drafted to RAW and have been part of the RAW roster ever since.

On April 11, 2017 at the Superstar Shake-Up, they were switched to SmackDown . There they no longer appear as The Shining Stars, but as The Colons. Since then, however, they have hardly been featured in the shows.

Due to a wave of layoffs, he was released from the WWE on April 15, 2020.
