The FCW Florida Tag Team Championship was the tag team title of the WWE Development League Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW). It existed from February 23, 2008 to August 14, 2012 when the promotion changed its name to WWE NXT . Like all titles in wrestling , the title was awarded as part of a storyline .
history
The title was first presented to the public on February 23, 2008 at an FCW house show in Port Richey , Florida . The first titleholders were The Puerto Rican Nightmares ( Eddie Colón and Eric Pérez ), who won the title in a subsequent tournament. In the final, they defeated Steve Lewington and Heath Miller . They were also the team that won the title most often. The Rotundos ( Bo Rotundo and Duke Rutondo ) held the title the longest with 161 days.
A total of 26 tag teams consisting of 45 different wrestlers won the title. On August 14, 2012 the title was discontinued after the FCW renamed itself WWE NXT. The NXT Tag Team Championship then replaced the title. The last titleholders were Rick Victor and Brad Maddox.
