Heath Miller (born July 15, 1983 in Pineville , West Virginia ), better known by his ring name Heath Slater , is an American wrestler , referee and actor . He was under contract with World Wrestling Entertainment ( WWE ) until April 2020 .
His greatest achievements include receiving the WWE Tag Team Championship three times with Justin Gabriel and receiving the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship with Rhyno .
Wrestling career
Beginnings
Miller began his training in 2004 at the WWA4 Pro Wrestling School in Atlanta , Georgia . In 2006 he made his debut with NWA Anarchy .
World Wrestling Entertainment (2006-2020)
Development leagues (2006-2009)
In 2006 Miller signed a development contract with the WWE and was first employed at Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW for short), where he made his debut on April 27, 2006 as Heath Miller .
After the WWE separated from OVW, Miller was now used in the new Florida Championship Wrestling Development League (FCW for short). At FCW, Miller first appeared as the manager of Shawn McGrath. Later, however, Miller returned to the individual area. At FCW, Miller represented Ted DiBiase Jr. as FCW Southern Heavyweight Champion and later became the title holder himself.
11 September 2008 were allowed Miller and Joe Hennig the FCW Florida Tag Team Title win . They later passed these on to DH Smith and TJ Wilson . In May 2009 Miller first appeared as Heath Slater . Miller was allowed to win the FCW Florida Heavyweight Title on August 13, 2009 . In October 2009 Miller played his first dark matches on RAW and also some matches on house shows.
The Nexus and The Corre (2010-2011)

In February 2010, Miller appeared as part of the first season of WWE NXT . There Christian was put at his side as a pro. At NXT, he took 4th place.
In June 2010 Miller joined the stable The Nexus (consisting of the rookies of the 1st NXT season). With these he feuded mainly against John Cena . On September 25, 2010, Miller won the WWE Tag Team Championship with Gabriel . The two had to hand them over to Santino Marella and Vladimir Kozlov . After CM Punk became the new leader of the stable, Miller and Gabriel left the stable.
Miller appeared on SmackDown from then on. He made his first appearance on January 11, 2011 when he attacked Jackson Big Show with Wade Barrett , Gabriel and Ezekiel . From this joint attack emerged the stable The Corre (consisting of Barrett, Gabriel, Miller and Jackson). On February 20, 2011, at the Elimination Chamber event , Miller and Gabriel won the WWE Tag Team Championship for the second time. However, both lost the title a day later at RAW to John Cena and The Miz , but were able to regain them a few moments later in a re-match. On April 19, 2011, they lost the title to Kane and Big Show.
Feud with Legends and Various Feuds (2011-2016)

On October 17, 2011, Miller was suspended from the WWE for 30 days. He competed WWE Legends every week on WWE Monday Night Raw in June and July 2012 . So he fought against Rikishi , Vader , Sycho Sid , Road Warrior Animal , Bob Backlund , Diamond Dallas Page and Doink the Clown. In the 1,000th episode of Raw, he faced Lita , who defeated him along with the legends Miller already fought and other legends such as Sergeant Slaughter and Roddy Piper . From October 2012 to June 12, 2014 he performed together with Drew McIntyre and Jinder Mahal as "3MB" (Three Man Band). With the dismissal of McIntyre and Mahal, the group broke up.
From June 2014 to February 2015 he formed the SlaterGator team with Titus O'Neil . Then he tried again as a single wrestler. From January 2016 to the WWE Draft in July, he formed the stable The Social Outcasts with Curtis Axel , Bo Dallas and Adam Rose .
Tag Team with Rhyno (2016-2019)

Slater was the only Superstar who wasn't drafted into either of the two WWE roster in the 2016 WWE Draft. So he tried to get signed to SmackDown or Raw as part of a storyline , which he finally succeeded. On September 11, 2016, he and Rhyno won a tournament for the newly introduced WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship at Backlash by defeating the Usos in the final. The reign of the two lasted 84 days, they lost the title on December 4, 2016 at WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs to The Wyatt Family ( Bray Wyatt , Luke Harper and Randy Orton ).
As part of the Superstar ShakeUp on April 10 and 11, 2017, Heath Slater was drafted to WWE Raw together with his tag team partner Rhyno . However, they only played a few matches there. On June 24, 2019, he won the WWE 24/7 Championship , but lost it a few seconds later.
Return to SmackDown (2019-2020)
As part of the WWE Draft, Slater switched from Raw to SmackDown on October 13, 2019 , but was still rarely used. As part of a wave of layoffs, his contract was terminated by the WWE on April 15, 2020.
