Yuvraj Singh Dhesi (born July 19, 1986 in Calgary , Canada ), better known by his ring name Jinder Mahal , is a Canadian wrestler with Indian roots who is currently under contract with WWE .

His biggest success so far is winning the WWE Championship and WWE United States Championship .

Wrestling career

Independent Leagues (2003-2010)

Dhesi began his career with the wrestling promotion Premier Martial Arts Wrestling (PMW) , where he performed as Raj Dhesi. From 2003 to 2010 Dhsei performed in various doctorates. His greatest successes in the independent scene were with his cousin Gama Singh Jr. With him he won the Stampede Wrestling International Tag Team Championship twice at Stampede Wrestling . Among other things, the two won the ASW Tag Team Championship in All-Star Wrestling . At Prairie Wrestling Alliance he won the PWA Heavyweight Championship twice as a single wrestler . After his release, he returned to the independent leagues, including the World Wrestling Council .

WWE (2010-2014)

For a year he took part in Florida Championship Wrestling , the WWE's advanced league at the time. He made his debut on the main roster on April 29, 2011 on SmackDown . There he appeared as brother-in-law and tag team partner of the Great Khali . The team then broke up when they lost to WWE Tag Team Champions Evan Bourne and Kofi Kingston at SmackDown on September 9, 2011 . Then he started a feud against the Great Khali, which he lost. This was followed by minor feuds for him. He entered the tournament to crown the first NXT Champion. On July 26, 2012, he lost in the final against Seth Rollins , so Rollins won the NXT Championship .

From September 21, 2012 to June 12, 2014 he formed the stable 3MB with Drew McIntyre and Heath Slater . They performed as a band. Then Hornswoggle joined the stable 3MB. Their last feud was against Los Matadores ( Diego , Fernando and El Torito). On June 12, 2014, he and Drew McIntyre were released from the WWE, which also disbanded 3MB.

Return to the Independent Leagues (2014-2016)

Dhesi returned to the Independent Leagues in 2014. He has appeared at the World Wrestling Council and Inoki Genome Federation, among others.

Return to WWE (since 2016)

After WWE reintroduced the roster split, WWE decided to put Dhesi back under contract. His return was officially confirmed on July 27th. He returned to WWE on the August 1, 2016 Raw edition. He entered the ring with his former Stable colleague Heath Slater, where the two asked Raw general manager Mick Foley to sign a contract with Raw. Mick Foley set a match between the two, with the winner receiving a contract on Raw. He was able to defeat Heath Slater in this match, making him part of the raw roster.

On December 19, 2016 on Raw, he tagged Rusev after the two attacked Enzo Amore . The two then began a feud against Big Cass and Enzo Amore. On March 5, 2017 at Fastlane , he and Rusev announced the separation of the tag team.

When Smackdown -Issue from April 11, 2017 in superstar shake-up he moved to Smackdown and has since become a part of the Smackdown roster. There he forms a stable with Samir Singh and Sunil Singh.

On May 21, 2017, he won the WWE Championship from Randy Orton at the PPV Backlash . On November 7th, he lost the SmackDown title to AJ Styles . From then on he was only part of smaller matches and was completely out of the title action.

As part of the Superstar Shake-Up 2019, Mahal switched from Raw to SmackDown on April 23, 2019 . On June 2, 2019, Mahal won the WWE 24/7 Championship from R-Truth on a golf course, but the reign ended only 11 seconds after Truth regained the title. On June 6, 2019, Mahal won the WWE 24/7 Championship from R-Truth for the second time, but lost it again after six hours. As part of the WWE Draft, Mahal switched from SmackDown to Raw on October 14, 2019 .
