Wrestling career
World Wrestling Entertainment (2006-2016)
Ohio Valley Wrestling (2006-2007)
As the son of a well-known wrestler of the past, Runnels received a contract with the WWE . This initially built him up in her development promotion Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW for short). At OVW, Runnels formed a tag team with Shawn Spears (Ronnie Arniell) from August 2006 . They feuded against Deuce and Domino . Of these, Runnels and his partner were able to win the Tag Team title twice. Runnels was allowed to win the Heavyweight title of promotion from Paul Burchill on February 17, 2007, but had to give it up the next day against the same. On June 6, 2007 Runnels was allowed to win the OVW Television title. Thus, he held all titles of this doctorate at least once.
Tag Team with Hardcore Holly and Legacy (2007-2010)
On July 2, 2007, Runnels made his debut as Cody Rhodes on RAW in the WWE. In June he and his father Dusty feuded against Randy Orton . He then feuded against Hardcore Holly , with whom he then formed a tag team. From the pay-per-view Night of the Champions on June 29, 2008, Runnels formed a new team as the reigning Tag Team Champion with Ted DiBiase . Rhodes was unable to take the suitcase from him.
The Brotherhood and Stardust (2013-2016)
Rhodes was then fired from the camera after losing a careers match to Randy Orton. This led to a feud against Stephanie McMahon, in which Dusty Rhodes and Goldust were also involved. After the Rhodes Family won a reinstallation match against The Shield at the PPV Battleground, they were officially part of the WWE roster again. On October 14, 2013, the Rhodes Family defeated The Shield again in a title match for the WWE Tag Team Championship, which Cody Rhodes was able to win the title for the second time.
