Stephen Adam Amell (born May 8, 1981 in Toronto , Ontario , Canada) is a Canadian actor .


In 2005 he starred in the first season of the series Dante's Cove . He became known to a wider audience primarily through his roles in the television series Rent-a-Goalie and as a partner of Shirley MacLaine and Mischa Barton in the film Closing the Ring . In 2010 he starred in the Canadian television series Da Kink In My Hair and Heartland - Paradise for Horses , and he was also seen in the mystery series Vampire Diaries . In 2011, he took on the lead role of callboy Jason in the HBO series Hung . From 2012 to 2020 Amell was in the television series Arrow , he played the main character Oliver Queen alias Green Arrow .

In 2015 he had a match in the WWE at SummerSlam with Neville on the team against Stardust and Barrett , which Neville and Amell won.

Stephen Amell founded Nocking Point Wines with a friend . In 2012 he married the actress Cassandra Jean , with whom he has a daughter (* 2013).



Amell won the Gemini Award in 2007 for his guest role in ReGenesis , and he was nominated for the Gemini Award in the Best Ensemble Cast category in 2007 and 2008 with the ensemble of the television series Rent-a-Goalie .
