Mischa Anne Marsden Barton (born January 24, 1986 in Hammersmith , London ) is a British - Irish actress and model . Besides British citizenship, she also has US citizenship .

Life

Mischa Anne Marsden Barton was born in Hammersmith , London . Her mother Nuala (nee Quinn) is a photographer with Irish roots, her father Paul Marsden Barton is from Manchester; they have three daughters together. Mischa Barton's older sister works as a lawyer in London. In Hammersmith, she attended St. Paul's Girls' School before Mischa Barton's family moved to New York City . Barton graduated from the Professional Children's School in Manhattan in 2004. She then attended a summer course at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. Barton became a US citizen in 2006.

On the night of December 27, 2007, Barton was arrested in West Hollywood for driving without a valid driver's license, drinking and driving, and drug possession. She had the night at the police station and came to spend the next day on bail of around 10,000 US dollars free. As a result, she received a three-year suspended sentence in mid-April 2008. In addition, she was fined $ 2,000 and attended a course on the dangers of drinking alcohol.

Career

At the age of nine, Mischa Barton began her acting career at various theaters in New York, where she played the leading role in Tony Kushner's Slavs! received. Other tracks like Where the Truth Lies , Twelve Dreams and One Flea Spare followed . She also took part in the Shakespeare Festival in New York City.

After the low ratings start of The CW series The Beautiful Life and its cancellation after only two episodes, Barton said that she wanted to get out of the television business and concentrate on her film career.

Back in 1999, Barton received supporting roles in the Hollywood productions The Sixth Sense and Notting Hill . She played her first leading role in 2000 in Mittendrin and fully involved , followed by Lost and Delirious the following year and 2007 in Closing the Ring . In these productions, Mischa Barton's acting was judged very positively. Further film and occasional television appearances followed. Barton mainly starred in B-films , including many thrillers and horror film productions, only a few of which received a theatrical release. Her work includes more than 70 productions.
