The AEW TNT Championship is the secondary title of the US wrestling promotion All Elite Wrestling (AEW). Introduced on March 30, 2020, the title will be awarded to male individual wrestlers of the AEW roster . As is common in wrestling, the award is based on a previously determined storyline . The title's name and design refer to the TNT television station that broadcasts the weekly AEW programs in the United States.

history

All Elite Wrestling published a press release on March 30th, 2020 in which the promotion presented the AEW TNT Championship as a secondary title. The first title holder was determined in a tournament with eight participants, which began in the Dynamite edition on April 8, 2020. The tournament participants were announced in the editions of Dark on March 31, 2020 and Dynamite on April 1, 2020. The tournament final between Cody and Lance Archer took place at the pay-per-view event Double or Nothing on May 23, 2020. There the title was presented by former boxer Mike Tyson . The first title holder was Cody.
