AEW Dynamite , also All Elite Wrestling: Dynamite , is an American wrestling show. It has been produced by All Elite Wrestling (AEW for short) since October 2nd, 2019 and broadcast live every Wednesday evening.
The program will be broadcast on TNT in HD . In German-speaking countries, TNT Serie has been showing the show on Friday evening since October 25, 2019.
history
On May 15, 2019, the media company WarnerMedia and the wrestling promotion All Elite Wrestling, founded at the beginning of the year, announced the planned weekly production of a prime-time show on TNT . The show's premiere was advertised on July 24, 2019 for October 2, 2019 from the Capital One Arena in Washington, DC . In August 2019, wrestling leader WWE announced that it would broadcast its WWE NXT show live on the USA Network on Wednesdays at the same time as the AEW show . The two shows are therefore in direct competition with each other. The final title of the show AEW Dynamite was announced on September 19, 2019. The premiere of AEW Dynamite on October 2, 2019 reached 1.4 million US viewers, making it the most successful broadcast on TNT in five years. Since the start of Dynamite, more matches have been recorded before and after the TV broadcast, which will be published online on the following Tuesday on the AEW YouTube channel in the AEW Dark show .
On January 15, 2020, All Elite Wrestling announced that they had extended their contract with WarnerMedia to and including 2023. In addition, both parties decided to broadcast AEW Dark with additional storyline segments on TV on TNT in the future. It was also stated that Dynamite had an average of 1.2 million US viewers per episode in the first three months. Both live viewers and viewers of the repeats and on-demand offers from TNT are included within seven days of the live broadcast.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States , the shows have been produced without an audience since March 18, 2020. To reduce contact during the pandemic, most shows will not be broadcast live. Instead, several shows are produced in blocks on individual days and broadcast at different times.
List of major events
All Elite Wrestling produces large events at irregular intervals that are advertised under special titles and broadcast as part of the weekly Dynamite broadcasts. There are special matches in which the storylines of the previous weeks, similar to the pay-per-view events , often reach a climax.
