Dietmar Molthagen

Dietmar Molthagen (born December 26, 1974 in Hamburg ) is a German political scientist and historian. Since October 2018 he has been head of the Julius Leber Forum, the regional office of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation for the federal states of Bremen , Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein .

Career

After graduating from high school in 1994 in Hamburg-Rahlstedt, he studied history, political science and Protestant theology in Hamburg and Leicester. After completing his Magister Artium, Dietmar Molthagen received his doctorate from the Evangelisches Studienwerk Villigst at the University of Hamburg . In 2004 he completed his doctorate; he wrote his thesis on the Liverpool and Hamburg bourgeoisie during the First World War. After completing his doctorate, he began working for the Friedrich Ebert Foundation. There he worked as a project manager and in particular in the field of political advice and as an expert on migration and right-wing extremism. Parallel to his work in the political environment, he works as a lecturer and lecturer, where he teaches in bachelor's and master's seminars on topics such as “lobbying and political communication” or “right-wing extremism in Germany: ideology, structures, strategies”.

Dietmar Molthagen is married and lives in Berlin and Hamburg. For many years he has volunteered against right-wing extremism, for education, more Europe and in the Protestant Church.
