Nicholas Aldis (born November 6, 1986 in Docking ) is an English wrestler currently under contract with Impact Wrestling , formerly known as Total Nonstop Action Wrestling . There he appears again under his old ring name Magnus . His greatest achievement is winning the TNA World Heavyweight Championship .

Private life

Aldis has been married to wrestler Mickie James since December 31, 2015 . Their son was born on September 25, 2014.

Wrestling career

Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (2008-2015)

On November 11, 2008, Aldis signed a with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling . He appeared as a modern gladiator. When the gladiator gimmick was dropped, he formed the stable The British Invasion with Doug Williams and Rob Terry . They started a feud against Team 3D . At the Impact Wrestling edition on July 30th. In 2009 he won the IWGP Tag Team Championship with Doug Williams from Team 3D , the tag team title of the Japanese promotion NJPW . They lost the title again to Team 3D at Bound for Glory on October 18, 2009 in a Four Way Full Metal Mayhem Tag Team Match , in which the Main Event Mafia ( Booker T and Scott Steiner ) and Beer Money Inc. were also involved. In the said match, the IWGP Tag Team Championship and the TNA World Tag Team Championship were at stake. They were able to secure the latter title from the Main Event Mafia. They lost the title at Genesis on January 17, 2010 to Hernandez and Matt Morgan . For the defeat they blamed their stable colleague Rob Terry, so Terry left the stable on February 18, 2010. On March 21, 2010 at Destination X, he was renamed Magnus. On February 2, 2012, the team was separated.

He later formed a tag team with Samoa Joe . On February 12, 2012, they won the TNA World Tag Team Championship . They lost the title on May 13, 2012 to Christopher Daniels and Kazarian . On July 4, 2013, he joined the Main Event Mafia to feud against the Aces & Eights . He left the stable on November 7, 2013.

In the Impact Wrestling edition of December 19, 2013, which was recorded on December 3, 2013, he defeated Jeff Hardy in the finals of a tournament for the vacant TNA World Heavyweight Championship after TNA General Manager Dixie Carter intervened in the match . AJ Styles , who was also TNA World Heavyweight Champion because he took the title with him when he left TNA, according to the storyline, started a feud with him to determine the only TNA World Heavyweight Champion. At the Impact Wrestling edition on January 9, 2014, he defeated AJ Styles in a no disqualification match and combined both TNA World Heavyweight Championships. On April 10, 2014, he lost his to Eric Young .

After losing his title, he formed a tag team with Bram. The two feuded against Willow and Abyss . On January 23, 2015, he won a Feast or Fired case . Bram claimed the suitcase, believing he was stealing it from him. The team broke up, and the two committed a feud. During the feud, his fiancée Mickie James returned and supported him against Bram. The feud ended in a no disqualification match in which he was able to prevail against Bram.

After prevailing against Bram, he started a feud against James Storm , as James Storm tried to get Mickie James into his stable The Revolution . The feud ended in a mixed tag team match at the July 29, 2015 Impact Wrestling edition recorded on June 25, 2016 , when he and Mickie James won against James Storm and Serena. He left TNA on June 29, 2015.

Global Force Wrestling (2015-2017)

After leaving TNA, he moved to the newly founded wrestling league of Jeff Jarrett , where he competes under the ring name Nick Aldis. On July 9, he made his debut for GFW in a match he won against Tomasso Ciampa . On October 23, 2015 he defeated Bobby Roode in the final of a tournament for the GFW Global Championship and was crowned the first title holder.

Return to Impact Wrestling (2017)

After Total Nonstop Action Wrestling was renamed Impact Wrestling and Jeff Jarrett returned as a consultant, and Impact Wrestling merged with Global Force Wrestling, Nick Aldis also returned to his old league. At the Impact Wrestling edition on April 6, 2017, Aldis celebrated his return to Impact Wrestling as Magnus with his GFW Global Championship when he joined Team Borash as the fourth member. At the Impact Wrestling edition on April 13, 2017, he was able to get the winning pinfall for Team Borash. In the Impact Wrestling edition on May 11, 2017, which was recorded on April 22, he lost his GFW Global Championship to Alberto El Patrón , which ended his 547-day reign as champion.

National Wrestling Alliance (since 2017)

On September 23, 2017, Aldis made his Hollywood Championship Wrestling debut against Will Roode. Later after the match, Aldis challenged Tim Storm for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship . The match took place on November 12th and Storm retained the title. On December 9th, Aldis defeated Storm in a rematch at CZW Cage of Death 19 to become the new NWA World Heavyweight Champion. He gave the title back to Cody on September 1, 2018 , to whom he was inferior on his independent show All-in, but got it back on the NWA's 70th Anniversary Show on October 21, 2018.
