Matthew Thomas Morgan (born September 10, 1976 in Fairfield , Connecticut ), better known by his current ring name Matt Morgan , is an American wrestler who currently works as a freelance agent. Previously, he was regularly seen in the shows of the market leader WWE and later Total Nonstop Action Wrestling.

His greatest success as a wrestler to date was receiving the TNA World Tag Team Championship twice .

Career

World Wrestling Entertainment

Morgan participated in WWE Tough Enough Season 2 . However, Morgan had to retire due to a knee injury.

After his injury break, he got an offer from the WWE and was first used in Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW for short), where he made his debut on July 24, 2002 as Matt Morgan .

Morgan made his SmackDown debut on November 4, 2003 . On SmackDown, he appeared alongside Brock Lesnar , Big Show , A-Train and Nathan Jones . In early 2004, he formed a tag team with Rhyno . Morgan was injured in February 2004 and returned in March. He was then used again in Ohio Valley Wrestling.

At OVW Morgan won the Heavyweight Title from Nick Dinsmore on April 14, 2004 . Morgan gave the title to Chris Cage . Morgan won the title one more time in April 2005.

In April, Morgan was reinstated at SmackDown. There he appeared as the stuttering bodyguard of Carlito , with dyed black hair. Together with Carlito, Morgan played a brief feud program against Big Show before Morgan was released from the WWE in July 2005.

Independent

After the WWE had released Morgan, this appeared together with his friend Mark Jindrak from October 2005 in Japan at New Japan Pro-Wrestling . In January 2006, Morgan came to Europe briefly , where he took part in Nu-Wrestling Evolution . This was followed by various engagements in Japan (e.g. All Japan Pro Wrestling and HUSTLE ), America (e.g. World Wrestling Council and Far North Wrestling ) and Europe (e.g. Nu-Wrestling Evolution) until 2007 . Morgan appeared at HUSTLE as Gomora . There he formed a tag team with Sodom .

Total non-stop action wrestling

Morgan joined TNA in early 2008 . He played his first match at Lockdown on April 13, 2008. During the year he formed a tag team with Abyss , which was disbanded in early 2009.

From September 2009 Morgan then formed a tag team with Hernandez . With Hernandez, D'Angelo Dinero and Suicide, Morgan feuded against Team 3D , Rhino and Jesse Neal.

At Genesis 2010 , Morgan won the TNA World Tag Team Championship with Hernandez . At TNA Impact! - March 22, 2010 issue, Morgan Hernandez injured, according to the storyline, so Hernandez was written from the shows and loaned to Asistencia Asesoría y Administración . Morgan now became the sole title holder. In title matches, Morgan competed with various partners (e.g. Amazing Red and Shark Boy). Morgan gave the title on May 4, 2010 to The Band ( Kevin Nash and Scott Hall ).

Together with Crimson, Morgan won the TNA World Tag Team Championship for the second time on November 15, 2011 . Morgan and Crimson lost the title to Samoa Joe and Magnus on February 12, 2012 .

On December 20, 2011, he won the Ring Ka King Heavyweight Championship in a tournament. A day later he lost this title to Brutus Magnus .

In June 2012, Morgan's contract with TNA expired, which initially ended the collaboration. Although he suggested several times. Moving back to WWE, he returned at a TNA house show in September 2012. His return in front of the cameras followed on October 14, 2012 on Bound for Glory .

On July 10, 2013, TNA announced that Morgan had been fired.
