New Wrestling Entertainment (NWE, previously Nu-Wrestling Evolution ) is an Italian wrestling league that has existed since 2005 and is based in Turin . NWE was founded by the media company Magnumgroup , but since 2006 the league has been owned by EmmeK Editore SRL . NWE is the market leader in Italy and is one of the top European leagues.

history

Founded in 2005 as a pure independent league , NWE quickly tried to gain a foothold in the commercial arena. Initially it was only held in Italy, but later the market was also discovered in Spain, where it is held in front of up to 15,000 spectators, for example in April 2008 in Madrid. Due to the success in Spain in 2008 all shows were exclusively held there. Part of the league's recipe for success is certainly the commitment of current and former US wrestlers, such as Rob Van Dam , Booker T , Warrior and other well-known people from Japan and Mexico, who also received titles. Another reason for the success should also be the current booker of the league. This is the soloist Fatu , who competes there as a wrestler under the name of Kishi , who through his diverse contacts often makes surprising obligations of well-known professional colleagues possible.

Highlights

The league caused a sensation in the wrestling world when a former WWE champion and star of the market leader in World Wrestling Entertainment , the Wrestler Warrior, appeared at NWE for the first time in over 10 years. This was allowed to win the league title, but he gave it up again immediately because he was not interested in a permanent comeback. However, his appearance made the league well known in the industry.
