history

The village of Bratja Daskalowi was founded in 1956 by merging the two villages on both sides of the Omurowska reka river: Grosdowo (Bulgarian Гроздово ) on the left bank and Wojnizite (Bulgarian Войниците ) or Raschewo (Bulgarian Ръжево ) on the right bank.

Grosdowo was called Malko Borisowo (bulg. Малко Борисово ) until 1947 and before that it was called Burnusus (bulg. Бурнусус ) until 1906 . Today a quarter of the village is still called Burnusus. The village Wojnizite was called Wojnik machale (Bulgarian Войник махале ) until 1906 .

The present name bratya daskalovi (Bulgarian for "Brothers Daskalov") is the three brothers Dimitar Daskalov (bulg. Димитър Даскалов ; 1883-1923), Ivan Daskalov (bulg. Иван Даскалов ; 1885-1923) and Nikola Daskalov (bulg. Никола Даскалов ; 1895–1923) dedicated. You were a participant in the September uprising of 1923 . After its suppression, they were executed on October 4, 1923 in the city park Ajasmo (Bulgarian Аязмото ) of Stara Sagora.

The village holiday is on September 23rd.

Bratja Daskalowi municipality

The municipality of Bratja Daskalowi covers an area of 497 km². It has 8917 inhabitants (as of September 15, 2010) in the 23 villages of the municipality. The region has been inhabited since prehistoric times, as evidenced by prehistoric settlement mounds from the 5th to 4th millennium BC. In the vicinity of almost every village in the municipality there are traces of ancient and medieval settlements.

The municipality has a favorable geographical location. The Sofia - Burgas motorway ( Awtomagistrala A1 "Trakiya" ) runs through the municipality , from which the A3 Avtomagistrala "Maritsa" is 5 km southeast of Orisowo as part of the pan-European traffic corridor No. 4 to the south, towards Turkey via the Kapitan Andreewo border crossing -Kapıkule , branches off.

The community is very rural. 63 percent of the area is used for agriculture. Agriculture, especially the cultivation of grain, wine and fruit, are the economic mainstay of the municipality, especially since the climate and the soil conditions are favorable for the cultivation of the “Bulgarian oil rose ” ( Damascus roses ), lavender and cotton. The investments made in recent years have increased the area for vines by 300 hectares, the area for lavender by 27 hectares, for roses by 33 hectares and the area for fruit growing by 30 hectares.

The municipality's economy is used to process the agricultural products produced here: canning factory, milk processing, wine production and mills. With the financial support of the SAPARD program of the European Union , new production capacities for food processing were built that meet EU standards. The products of these companies are currently (as of 2010) only sold within Bulgaria. One exception is the “Konex-Tiva” canning factory near Orisowo , which works exclusively for export: to Canada, USA, France, Great Britain, Sweden, Germany and Israel.

The community with its numerous small reservoirs is trying to expand tourism on the southern foothills of the Sredna Gora (20 km north of Bratja Daskalowi).
