The Impact Tag Team Championship is the tag team wrestling title of Impact Wrestling . Introduced on May 14, 2007 after TNA's rights to the NWA World Tag Team Championship were revoked, the title will only be given to the Tag Team division. As is common in wrestling, the award is based on a previously determined storyline .
history
The Impact Tag Team Championship was introduced on June 13, 2007 as a replacement for the previously used NWA World Tag Team Championship . These have been the league's highest tag team title since TNA was founded in May 2002. However, as the title defenses in the NWA territories, i.e. outside of TNA shows, became increasingly rare over time, the National Wrestling Alliance decided in May 2007 not to extend the expiring contract with TNA. As a result, the NWA World Tag Team Championship returned to the control of the NWA.
The collaboration ended on May 13, 2007 and on the same day the title of the then title holder Team 3D was revoked by the NWA committee and declared vacant . TNA also presented the newly created TNA World Tag Team Titles on this day and Team 3D were automatically declared the first TNA World Tag Team Champions .

Kurt Angle ( TNA World Heavyweight Champion & IWGP Heavyweight Champion ) vs. Samoa Joe ( TNA X-Division Champion & TNA World Tag Team Champion ). Sting defeated AJ Styles , Christian Cage and Samoa Joe to become TNA World Tag Team Champions along with Kurt Angle . Kurt Angle defeated Samoa Joe after a chair blow and became the new TNA World Tag Team Champion and new TNA X-Division Champion . So he held all three TNA titles at the same time. |
