Frank B. Gerdelman (born August 4, 1977 in Palm Springs , California ) is an American wrestler who currently appears regularly under his ring name Frankie Kazarian in the shows of All Elite Wrestling .

Career

Independent (1998-2003)

Gerdelman started his career in 1998 and was active as a wrestler in the independent scene. There he became known as Evolution with his tag team partner Nova and won the tag team titles in various promotions with his partner several times, such as Ultimate Pro Wrestling . On August 30, 2003 he became the first PWG champion in history.

Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (2003-2005)

In the summer of 2003, Gerdelman made his debut in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling . After several months of abstinence , he won the TNA X Division Championship for the first of five times on March 31, 2004 , but lost the title to AJ Styles in June of the same year . Only a short time later, Gerdelman and his then partner Michael Shane won the TNA X Division Championship together from Styles and were at the same time carriers of the title for individual wrestlers. On August 11, 2004, they lost the title to Petey Williams.

WWE (2005)

After appearing in the Tag Team Division with Shane, Gerdelman left TNA on February 25, 2005 and switched to World Wrestling Entertainment . There he made his debut on the WWE Velocity show on July 16, 2005 and was undefeated in the weeks that followed. Nevertheless, he left the WWE on August 13, 2005 at his own request.

Return to Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (2006-2014)

Gerdelman then returned to the independent scene, before returning to TNA in July 2006. On April 15, 2008 at TNA iMPACT! he won the TNA World Tag Team Championship together with Super Eric . However, the title was withdrawn that same evening.

After several attempts to gain titles, Gerdelman took on the character of the masked Suicide from December 2008 , whose role Christopher Daniels temporarily took over because he was injured and was absent for several weeks. Suicide received the TNA X Division Championship at Destination X on March 13, 2009 . The loss of the title to Homicide followed on June 25, 2009. The last appearance as Suicide was on February 11, 2010.

A week later he returned as a Kazarian and won the X-Division title for the fourth time at Lockdown on April 18, 2010. At Sacrifice on May 16, 2010 he lost the title back to Douglas Williams. In the following years Gerdelman became a member of the Fortune group . At Genesis on January 9, 2011, he defeated Jay Lethal and won the X-Division title for the last time. On May 16, 2011, Gerdelman lost the title to Abyss .

At Sacrifice on May 13, 2012, he won the TNA World Tag Team Championship for the second time with Christopher Daniels from Magnus and Samoa Joe . On June 10, 2012 at Slammiversary X , they lost the title to AJ Styles and Kurt Angle , but won it back on Impact Wrestling on June 28, 2012. At Bound for Glory on October 14, 2012, they lost the Tag Team titles to Chavo Guerrero and Hernandez . Gerdelman left TNA in April 2014.

Ring of Honor (2014-2018)

In June 2014 Gerdelman made his debut for Ring of Honor . Together with Christopher Daniels, he received the ROH World Tag Team Championship from Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly on April 4, 2015 . They lost the title to Matt Taven and Michael Bennett on September 18, 2015. They won the title a second time on May 9, 2016 from Hanson and Ray Rowe. The reign ended on September 30, 2016 with a loss to The Young Bucks . On March 9, 2018, Gerdelman and Christopher Daniels won the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship from The Young Bucks and Hangman Page together with Scorpio Sky as SoCal Uncensored . They dropped the title on May 9, 2018 from Matt Taven, TK O'Ryan, and Vinny Marseglia. Gerdelman was able to win his third ROH World Tag Team Championship with Scorpio Sky. They received the title from The Young Bucks on October 14, 2018 and lost it to Jay Briscoe and Mark Briscoe on December 14, 2018. The following day, Gerdelman made his final appearance for Ring of Honor.

All Elite Wrestling (since 2019)

In January 2019 Gerdelman was confirmed as one of the first wrestlers in the newly founded All Elite Wrestling promotion . He won his debut match at the first AEW event Double or Nothing on May 25, 2019 together with Christopher Daniels and Scorpio Sky against CIMA, El Lindaman and T-Hawk. In the October 30, 2019 issue of Dynamite , Gerdelman and Scorpio Sky became the first AEW World Tag Team Championship titleholders when they won the tournament final for the newly introduced title against The Lucha Brothers ( Rey Fenix and Pentagon Jr. ). They lost the title to Adam Page and Kenny Omega on January 21, 2020 .
