Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG) is an American wrestling promotion based in Los Angeles , California . Promoters are the Wrestler Disco Machine, Excalibur, Joey Ryan, Scott Lost, Super Dragon and Top Gun Talwar.

history

Pro Wrestling Guerrilla was founded in 2003 by various wrestlers. The PWG belongs to the independent wrestling scene ( Independent Circle ). That means, with the exception of the reigning champions , their wrestling roster has no fixed contracts, but these are only booked for individual shows. In addition, various guest wrestlers are hired by PWG. The promotion is financed through the sale of tickets, fan merchandise and through the worldwide distribution of their shows recorded on DVD.

For reasons of liability , no wrestlers from TNA may be engaged by PWG since May 2007 . Since the separation of the TNA from the National Wrestling Alliance , it has forbidden its employees to appear on sales videos or DVDs for other promotions.

Shows

Most of the PWG shows take place in Los Angeles . In the early days of the league, Santa Ana was also held.

Pro Wrestling Guerrilla first achieved overall popularity in 2004 with the Tango and Cash Invitational Tournament, a two- day tag team tournament won by B-Boy and Homicide . Other important shows are the two-day "All Star Weekends" that take place twice a year.

As part of the “European Vacation”, she organized a show in Orpington (England) and Essen (Germany) in February 2006. In October 2007, there were again European shows in France, Great Britain and Germany. The latter was organized jointly with westside Xtreme wrestling . All events were recorded and published on DVD .

In addition, there has been the annual “Battle of Los Angeles” event since 2005 with many well-known wrestlers from the US and, since 2006, from the Japanese wrestling scene.
