Wrestling career
Beginnings
Trevor Mann started under the ring name Cameron Locke at Chaos Pro Wrestling and made his ring debut there on October 11, 2003. Trained by Brandon Walker and Chuck Taylor, who also became his first long-term rival, he made appearances in other small wrestling leagues, such as Insanity Pro Wrestling and Independent Wrestling Association Mid-South .
Independent Leagues (2006-2018)
In 2006 he began wrestling for Chikara of Philadelphia , Pennsylvania . There, too, he had many appearances with Chuck Taylor. After a “career match” against Taylor, he had to “leave” his doctorate in 2007 , but continued to fight as Helios , hidden under a mask. As Helios he was allowed to win the Young Lions Cup . From 2008 to 2010 he fought as a trio wrestler (three-man tag teams in the Lucha Libre style), first as The Golden Trio with Incoherence (Hallowicked and Delirious) and later in the stable The Future is Now .
In 2010 he made his debut at the newly founded wrestling promotion Evolve , which was founded by Gabe Sapolsky after leaving the Ring of Honor . Sapolsky, also Vice President of Dragon Gate USA let him compete in his second division, where he first belonged to the Babyface -Stable Warriors International , but then became a heel in the Stable Blood Warriors . He then joined Dragon Gate in Japan and won various titles in both promotions . At the same time, he wrestled with Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG), where he won the 2014 Battle of Los Angeles .
New Japan Pro Wrestling (2013-2017)
In 2013 he switched to New Japan Pro Wrestling , where he was also able to win several titles as an individual and tag team wrestler .
Lucha Underground (2014-2016)
In September 2014 he made his debut as Prince Puma in the main event of the first episode of the US television show Lucha Underground , in which he lost to Johnny Mundo . He was given a fictional Latino background and he wore a puma mask there. On January 7, 2015 (recorded on October 5, 2014) he defeated 19 other wrestlers in a Battle Royal and became the first Lucha Underground Champion . He kept the title for the entire first season. At the climax of the first season, the major event Ultima Lucha , he had to admit defeat to Mil Muertes . In the second season he formed a grouping with El Dragon Azteca Jr. and Rey Mysterio Jr. with whom he won the Lucha Underground Trios Championship .
Mann entered negotiations with WWE after the second season . Lucha Underground then made him an offer: With complete freedom to continue his independent career at NJPW and PWG, his new contract would make him the best-paid man in pro-wrestling outside the WWE. But Mann did not respond. In the third season, which aired in 2017, he ended up winning the championship at Ultima Lucha III , but was subsequently challenged by Gift of the Gods Champion Pentagón Dark , losing a career match and the title to the challenger. So he temporarily ended his career at Lucha Underground .
