Kia Michelle Stevens (born September 4, 1977 in Carson , California ), better known by her ring names Amazing Kong , Awesome Kong and Kharma , is an American wrestler . One of her greatest successes is receiving the TNA Women's Knockout Championship twice .

Private life

On May 30, 2011, Stevens announced that she was pregnant and that she would be off for about a year due to her high-risk pregnancy. It was later revealed that she miscarried and lost the child in December 2011.

Wrestling career

Independent leagues (since 2002)

Stevens trained in the wrestling school of the Empire Wrestling Federation and in the AJW Dojo , in Japan . In Japan, Stevens appeared as Amazing Kong at GAEA Japan (an all- women doctorate ). There she formed a tag team with Aja Kong . With this , Stevens won the AAAW Tag Team title in 2004 . Various engagements followed in Japan (e.g. OZ Academy , HUSTLE or Pro Wrestling ZERO1-MAX ) before Stevens became aware of various promotions in the USA . Stevens had her first appearance in the USA at National Wrestling Alliance Pro Wrestling . Stevens has also made multiple appearances on SHIMMER and Women Superstars Uncensored . Various commitments in Japan, the USA and Europe followed until 2007 .

Stevens made her first appearance after the TNA release at Purks International Championship Wrestling . Various engagements followed in America (e.g. Ring of Honor , Women Superstars Uncensored or EVOLVE Wrestling ).

Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (2007-2010)

On September 25, 2007, Stevens made her TNA debut as Amazing Kong . A little later she appeared as Awesome Kong . On January 7, 2008 , Stevens won the TNA Women's Knockout Title from Gail Kim . Stevens gave this title to Taylor Wilde on June 24, 2008 . After losing the title, Stevens began a feud against Wilde. On October 23, 2008, Stevens won the title back from Wilde. At TNAW Lockdown 2009 on April 19, 2009 Stevens gave the title to Angelina Love .

As of December 2009, Stevens formed a tag team with Hamada . Together with Hamada , Stevens won the TNA Knockout Tag Team Championship from Sarita and Taylor Wilde.

In February 2010 there was a backstage altercation between Stevens and Bubba The Love Sponge , a friend of Hulk Hogan's . Sponge made derogatory comments about Haiti (which had a major earthquake in January ). After this argument, Stevens submitted her resignation. The TNA officials refused. Stevens later sued Sponge.

Stevens also complained in February about the low wages she and the other wrestlers at TNA were getting.

Stevens refused TNA's UK tour and was then suspended. She was released on March 1, 2010.

WWE (2011-2012)

In December 2010 it was announced that Stevens had signed a contract with WWE , where she officially made her debut with Extreme Rules as Kharma on May 1, 2011 . On May 30, 2011, Stevens announced on RAW that she was pregnant and that she would be off for about a year due to her high-risk pregnancy. At the Royal Rumble on January 29, 2012, Stevens initially returned once and was the third woman to take part in the match of the same name.

In July 2012, Stevens confirmed via Twitter that she is no longer under contract with the WWE.

Return to TNA Wrestling (2015-2016)

She has been performing there since the start of AEW Dynamite (2019).
