Lauren Ann Richards (* 13. September 1981 in Toronto , Ontario as Lauren Ann Williams ) is a Canadian wrestler .

She was best known as Angelina Love in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling . There she holds the record for this title with six title reigns of the TNA Women's Knockout Championship .

Wrestling career

Beginnings

Williams began her wrestling career in Canada in 2000 in various independent promotions as a valet for various wrestlers, such as Chris Sabin and Eric Young . Soon afterwards she began her wrestling training under the coach Rob Fuego .

Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (2004)

In 2004, she completed her first appearance in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling .

World Wrestling Entertainment (2004-2007)

In June 2004, Williams played a selection for World Wrestling Entertainment . In November of the same year she trained in Ohio Valley Wrestling , and WWE offered her a development contract. She then came to Deep South Wrestling , where she stayed until April 2007 .

She had some feuds there , for example with Michelle McCool . She eventually became deputy general manager in the league on a storyline with DSW's general manager Krissy Vaine.

When the WWE separated from Deep South Wrestling in April 2007, Williams was again transferred to Ohio Valley Wrestling . She played a dark match against Serena on May 16, 2007 , and her contract was terminated a day later.

Independent leagues (since 2007)

After her youth contract with the WWE was terminated , she appeared in Mexico's Asistencia Asesoría y Administración under the ring name Canadian Angel from June 10, 2007 on. She also played matches in the Canadian Extreme Canadian Championship Wrestling and Full Throttle Wrestling in Alabama .

Return to TNA Wrestling (2007-2017)

In September 2007 she was contacted again by TNA to compete in a 10-knockouts gauntlet match at the annual pay-per-view event Bound for Glory , in which the first TNA Women's Champion was chosen.

Soon afterwards she founded the wrestling group TVelvet-Love Entertainment with Velvet Sky , later changed to The Beautiful People . Together, the two wrestlers became a regular part of TNA. On April 19, 2009 at Lockdown , Williams became TNA Women's Knockout Champion when she defeated Taylor Wilde and Awesome Kong in a 3-way match . Her second title reign began at Victory Road where she was allowed to win against Tara .

As a Canadian, Williams needed a work visa to travel to the United States . After its expiry, she missed the extension period. Williams was fired from TNA Wrestling on September 3, 2009 because she was no longer allowed to work in the United States. She has been back under contract with TNA since January 2010 after her work visa was extended.

At Victory Road on July 11, 2010 Williams was in a match against Madison Rayne by a special regulation again title holder, but two days later she had to give the title back to Rayne. From the same she won the title a fifth time on The Whole F'n Show on August 9, 2010. She lost the title on Bound for Glory on October 10, 2010 to Tara.

On December 9, 2010 Williams was allowed to win the vacant Knockout Tag Team title together with Winter , but lost it on March 13, 2011 to Mexican America (Sarita and Rosita). On July 1, 2012, she announced via Twitter that her request had been granted by TNA after the current contract had been terminated.
