Michelle Leigh Calaway , born McCool, (* 25. January 1980 in Palatka , Florida ) is a former American professional wrestler under the ring name Michelle McCool in the wrestling promotion WWE occurred. Her greatest achievement was receiving the WWE Women's Championship and the WWE Divas Championship twice .

Private life

McCool played softball before and during her time in high school . She was also active in baseball at the Pasco-Hernando Community College . McCool then earned a Masters in Educational Leadership from Florida State University . Before embarking on her wrestling career, she taught 7th grade science at a school in Palatka, Florida for four years. She continued to participate in several National Physique Committee fitness competitions .

McCool was married to Jeremy Alexander, and they divorced in 2006. In June 2010 she married the wrestler Mark William Calaway aka The Undertaker after 3 years of relationship .

McCool sustained multiple injuries while working as a wrestler, including a broken nose, two broken ribs, and a broken sternum, resulting in two hospital stays.

McCool began her career at WWE as a participant in the WWE Diva Search in 2004, where she lost according to the storyline to Christy Hemme . She signed a three-year deal in November 2004 and made her debut on the WWE television series SmackDown shortly thereafter .

McCool was transferred to the WWE-Aufbauliga DSW in late 2005 to continue her training there. After a short break from wrestling, she went to the junior league OVW .

McCool returned to SmackDown on June 2, 2006 ! back. She was allowed her first solo match on SmackDown on July 28, 2006 ! to win against Jillian Hall . A little later, McCool got the role of valet for the tag team of KC James and Idol Stevens.

A brief feud against Victoria ensued . On July 20, 2008, she was allowed to win the WWE Divas Championship against Natalya, after she had previously overcome Victoria , Eve Torres, Maryse and Cherry in the WWE Divas Championship tournament finals.

On December 26, 2008 McCool had to give up the title to Maryse Ouellet . At The Bash on June 28, 2009 she won the WWE Women's Championship from Melina . She became the first WWE diva to hold both women's titles.

From November 2009 she and Layla formed a tag team called Lay-Cool . At the Royal Rumble pay-per-view event , she had to lose the title to Mickie James, but was allowed to get it back. After 61 days, she had to surrender the title to Beth Phoenix on April 25, 2010 at the Extreme Rules event .

On May 14, 2010, her partner Layla Beth Phoenix won the WWE Women's Championship in a 2-on-1 handicap match. Both then unofficially held the title together. In the title union with the WWE Divas Championship, McCool stepped up for the team and defeated Melina, making her Divas Champion for the second time. She had to hand him over to Natalya at the 2010 PPV Survivor Series .

At Extreme Rules 2011 , she lost a Loser Leaves WWE match against her former partner Layla. McCool later confirmed via Twitter that this is not a storyline and that she ended her career.

Others

From November 5-9, 2007, McCool took part in five episodes of the Family Feud television series with numerous other WWE wrestlers. She also appeared on an episode of Project Runway on February 6, 2008 with Maria Kanellis , Candice Michelle , Torrie Wilson , Kristal Marshall , and Layla El . On June 3, 2008, she was on the sports show Best Damn Sports Show Period with John Cena . In addition, McCool appeared in the January 2009 issue of Muscle & Fitness magazine with Eve Torres and Maryse Ouellet .
