Christa Elisabeth Wackernagel (born October 26, 1947 in Jena ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and was a member of the Thuringian state parliament from 1999 to 2004 and from 2006 to 2009 .

Career

After completing 10th grade in 1964, Wackernagel trained as a technical draftsman and then worked as a technician. She then completed a technical college degree in structural engineering, which she graduated in 1979 as a graduate engineer (FH).

In the 1999 state election , Wackernagel was elected to the Thuringian state parliament for the first time, to which she was a member for the next five years. For the 2004 state election , in which she ran at number 41 on the CDU state list, she was initially not re-elected, but moved back to the state parliament on March 1, 2006 as a replacement for Harald Stauch . After the state election in 2009 , in which she ran again at number 41 on the list, she left the state parliament again.

In addition to her work in state politics, Wackernagel has also been a city councilor in Jena since 1999 and was last re-elected in this role in 2014. In addition, she does volunteer work in the Jena City Sports Association, of which she was elected chairman in 2003, in the Jena Old Town Association and in the Synod of the Jena Church District. In April 2013 she was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon for her voluntary work .
