With the arrival of new Protestant citizens to Wenzenbach, after a long-term provisional arrangement, it became necessary to build a Protestant church. The distribution committee of the Bavarian regional church approved the plans on December 5, 2014 and approved the necessary funds.

The foundation stone was laid on October 31, 2015, Reformation Day. The walls were erected and the roof completed in December of the same year. The indoor work and the outdoor area with forecourt could be completed by the end of June 2016. The church was consecrated on July 3, 2016.

Building description

The church is a single-storey multi-purpose building made of solid wood, using prefabricated parts, 33 m long and 11 m wide. Inside is the church room with 90 seats, which can be expanded to 150 seats together with the community hall. The space shell also houses a group room, two offices, a tea kitchen, sanitary rooms and a foyer. A heating system that uses geothermal energy is sufficient to heat the low-energy house . In addition, a photovoltaic system was installed. The central point in the church is an earth-colored block of rammed earth, about one and a half tons in weight. It was made on site.
