Organ builder Rainer Kilbert

Orgelbau Rainer Kilbert is a German organ building company from Bavaria based in Hönighausen near Regensburg in the Upper Palatinate .

Life

Rainer Kilbert (* 1964) grew up in Amberg . There he attended the musical Max-Reger-Gymnasium with an advanced course in music (organ) and passed his Abitur in 1983. He learned the profession of organ builder from Georg Jann in Allkofen near Laberweinting in Lower Bavaria . He then worked with August Hartmann in Regensburg , then with Johannes Schädler in Donaustauf , mainly as a designer and voicer.

In 2004 he founded his own company in Hönighausen, which he has been running full-time since 2008. His main activities are renovations, extensions, conversions and new intonations of organs, mainly in Upper Palatinate and Lower Bavaria.

In addition, Kilbert is involved in organ research and has worked as a part-time church musician in parishes in the Regensburg diocese for decades.
