Ignaz way
Ignaz Weise (born January 10, 1864 in Amberg , † 1932 in Passau ) was an East Bavarian organ builder .
Ignaz Weise learned the trade of organ building in the Maerz organ building workshop in Munich . In 1889 he founded his own company in Passau , which he moved to Plattling in 1903 . He built numerous organs in Lower Bavaria and in the eastern Upper Palatinate . In 1919 he handed the business over to his adopted son Michael.

Michael Weise learned from Ignaz Weise and from EF Walcker in Ludwigsburg . In 1919 he took over the business of his adoptive father and managed it until a fatal traffic accident in 1969. Hundreds of organs were built under his direction.
Reinhard Weise (born March 8, 1946 in Plattling ; † April 24, 2020 there).
Adoptive son Reinhard Weise continued to run the “Orgelbauanstalt” from 1972 to the present day. During his era the opus number of 1200 instruments was reached. The company turned to the mechanical sliding chest and manufactured organs with up to 45 stops on 4 manuals. A focus of the activities arose in the Franconian and Baden region, for example in and around Würzburg , Heidelberg , Sandhausen, Mannheim , Ludwigshafen , Wendlingen or Öhringen.
