Holy Spirit (St. Wendel)
The Church of the Holy Spirit was a Roman Catholic branch church of the Trier diocese in St. Wendel in the Saarland . She belonged to the parish of St. Anna .
history
With the expansion of the city of St. Wendel after the Second World War with new settlements also on the Tholeyer Berg, the need for a church as a pastoral center on site grew strongly. The branch church Heilig Geist on Coburger Strasse on Tholeyer Berg was built between 1965 and 1967 according to the plans of the architect Hanns Schönecker and consecrated on December 10, 1967 by Auxiliary Bishop Carl Schmidt.
After the necessary renovation work on the building could no longer be carried out by the parish in the early 2000s, the decision was made to give up the branch church. The last divine service in the Holy Spirit took place on June 29, 2003, during which the church was profaned. In 2006 the church building was demolished. Today there are private houses on the property.
