Grügelborn is the third largest district in the Saarland community of Freisen in the St. Wendel district . Until the end of 1973 Grügelborn was an independent municipality.

The highest point is the Eiselskist at 514 meters.
history
Grügelborn was first mentioned in 1588 in a description of the Lichtenberg Oberamt. However, grave finds testify that the place was already settled in Celtic times.
As part of the regional and administrative reform in Saarland , the previously independent municipality of Grügelborn was assigned to the municipality of Freisen on January 1, 1974.
Economy and Infrastructure
From 1936 until its closure in 1966, Grügelborn had a station on the Türkismühle – Kusel railway line .
