Hauptersweiler is a district and a district of the municipality of Freisen in the St. Wendel district in Saarland . Hauptersweiler was an independent municipality until the end of 1973.

geography

It lies between Oberkirchen and Osterbrücken in the upper valley of the Oster , which flows into the Blies in Wiebelskirchen .

history

Hauptersweiler is mentioned for the first time in 1331 together with the districts of Herchweiler and Seitzweiler .

In 1947 Hauptersweiler was incorporated into the nominally independent Saarland , which was in fact under French administration, along with a few other localities .

As part of the regional and administrative reform in Saarland , the previously independent municipality of Haupersweiler was assigned to the municipality of Freisen on January 1, 1974.

In 2003, the part that had previously belonged to Haupersweiler, the Gass of neighboring Herchweiler, was also handed over to the Rhineland-Palatinate municipality for administrative purposes.

State road 122 runs through the village, and the village is also connected to the Ostertalbahn . The federal motorway 62 can be reached via the Freisen and Konken junctions 6 km away .
