Johann Peter Plersch

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Johann Peter Plersch (also Blersch ) (* 1728 in Wingdorf near Gundelfingen ; † August 10, 1791 in Straubing ) was a German organ builder .

Life

Johann Peter Plersch learned organ building from Leonhard Veichtmayr (1704–1763) in Straubing. His son Franz Xaver Veichtmayr (* around 1740) was still too young at the time of his father's death to take over the organ building business. Therefore Johann Peter Plersch married Veichtmeier's widow in 1763 and took over the business. Franz Xaver Veichtmayr emigrated to Seligenstadt in 1764 . Johann Peter Plersch's successor, his son Johann Alois Plersch (around 1765–1817) was only able to maintain the business with great difficulty. His home was auctioned in 1810 to cover the debt burden.
