history
Until the church is planted
According to a document dating from 748, there was a baptismal site on the Isar in the original parish of Eching. A wooden baptistery is said to have been built at this point, which was later replaced by a Gothic parish church. The place name is based on the personal name Echo, which is derived from the affiliation suffix -ing.
The area of the city of Landshut, founded in 1204, belonged to the parish of Eching for centuries . The originally Gothic parish church fell victim to a flood of the Isar in 1702. Today's baroque church was built between 1709 and 1711, and in 1891 the grave chapel of the von Preysing-Lichtenegg-Moos family was attached.
Eching belonged to the Landshut Rent Office and the Erding Regional Court of the Electorate of Bavaria and was part of the Patrimonial Court and the Altfraunhofen tax district in the Kingdom of Bavaria .
20th century
In the competition " Our village should be more beautiful ", the town of Berghofen was the district winner and silver medalist in the district competition in 1984, and the town of Kronwinkl in 1996 and the bronze medalist in the district competition.

coat of arms
The coat of arms, which has been in use since 1975, is split by red and silver. In front it shows a silver crenellated wall with two crenellations, behind a green spruce with roots.
The composition of the municipal coat of arms is reminiscent of the formation of today's municipality of Eching from the municipalities of Berghofen, Eching, Haunwang, Kronwinkl and Viecht, which were independent until 1970. The wall with the two battlements in the front field is derived from the family coat of arms of the Counts of Preysing, who had their headquarters in Kronwinkl. The spruce in the back field is a talking symbol for the part of the municipality Viecht, originally a settlement in a spruce forest.

Buildings
- Parish Church of St. Johann Baptist . A church has stood on the banks of the Isar in Eching since the 9th century. On June 3, 1702, the tower and part of the Gothic nave collapsed due to washing. The current baroque building was built between 1710 and 1711 by Landshut's city master builder Wolfgang Echam and court carpenter Wolf Egkhart, who also came from Landshut. The furnishings are uniformly baroque with a stucco marble high altar , the altar panel from 1708 shows Mary with child and John. As part of the restoration, which was completed in 2013, the people's altar, which was created after the second Vatican based on the high altar style, was replaced by a contemporary ceramic altar - the first ceramic altar in a German church. In the church there are tombs from the 16th century.
- Kronwinkl Castle . Preysing's ancestral castle is located on the banks of the Isar. The keep comes from the 12th / 13th centuries. Century, the residential buildings were built in the 16./17. Century on the Gothic curtain wall.
