Viecht is a part of the municipality of Eching in the Lower Bavarian district of Landshut . It formed an independent municipality until 1970.

Viecht is located south of the Echinger reservoir on federal road 11 .
history
The name Viecht originally referred to a settlement in a spruce forest. Viecht is referred to in 1752 as "Viecht bey Cronwinkhl", the seat of the Counts of Preysing . The municipality Viecht, formed in 1818 by the Bavarian municipal edict, comprised the places Blaimberg, Grub, Haag, Hüttenfurth, Neuhof, Schwaiba, Schwaiblreuth and Steinzell and belonged to the district court, district office and finally to the Landshut district . On October 1, 1970, the municipality of Viecht was incorporated into the municipality of Eching as part of the regional reform in Bavaria . It was a voluntary amalgamation of the communities Berghofen, Eching , Haunwang, Kronwinkl and Viecht.
