Until the 19th century
Traces of settlement can be found in the municipal area since the Neolithic Age. The first noble seats are those of the Aichpeckhen and Staudacher. The current place name Niederaichbach is likely to have been derived from the Aichpeckhen, who lived here until 1334.
Successors as village lords were from the time between 1410 and 1420 the Hermstorfer. Niederaichbach was raised to Hofmark as early as 1444 . In 1507 Siegmund von Königsfeld was finally given the Hofmark Niederaichbach.
Both Niederbach and Oberaichbach were closed court brands. Thus the respective noble owner of the Hofmark was the legal owner of the house and yard, forest and hallway of the village, with the exception of church or monastery property. Wolf Ehrenreich von Königsfeld had the Niederaichbach village law copied from an unspecified pen book in 1620. It defines the supervisory right of the court lord in religious and private matters, as well as tax, criminal and administrative law. The Hofmarkartikel extended to the material assets and people of the village, which could be sold at any time.
In village law only cases of lower jurisdiction were dealt with. Serious criminals awaiting a sentence above the range of the lower jurisdiction had to be reported to the competent regional court within three days.
Wolf Ehrenreich von Königsfeld also acquired the Hofmark Oberaichbach from the coaches in 1625. He died at the age of 52 in 1638. His son Franz Nikolas, imperial baron since 1654 , built his castle in Niederaichbach from 1672 to 1675, more than twice as big as before and rebuilt the dilapidated Nikolakirche in the village.
The Königsfeld family , to which Emperor Leopold I had bestowed the title of "Hereditary Imperial Count" on September 14, 1686 , died out in Niederaichbach in 1737. The Königsfeld widow married a count of Closen in 1737 . These were followed by the Counts of Freyen-Seyboltstorff from 1762 until the 19th century, whose manorial rule and serfdom ended with the revolution in 1848 . Later, De Weerth and then the Berlin banker Otto von Mendelssohn Bartholdy owned the palace and estate. In 1925 Prince Ludwig Philipp von Thurn und Taxis (1901–1933) took over the castle, which passed to the princes of Urach through his daughter .
In Niederaichbach there was an important landing stage for the Isar raftsmen (raft land). The bridge over the Isar was built in 1870.
20th century
The Niederaichbach nuclear power plant was in operation from 1972 to 1974. The plant was dismantled from 1987 to 1995. Unit 1 of the Isar nuclear power plant went into operation on March 21, 1979, and Unit 2 on April 9, 1988.
After the fall of the Wall in 1990, the then Niederbobritzsch municipality from Saxony contacted the Niederaichbach municipality with the aim of entering into a partnership. A delegation from Niederaichbach traveled to Saxony for the first time in the summer of 1990, and soon afterwards there was a return visit from Niederbobritzsch. The partnership was officially sealed on October 20, 1991. After two community mergers in 1994 and 2012, the partnership exists today with the community of Bobritzsch-Hilbersdorf .
Incorporations
As part of the municipal area reform, the previously independent municipality of Hüttenkofen was incorporated on January 1, 1971 . On April 1, 1971, parts of the dissolved community of Oberaichbach were added. On July 1, 1971, parts of Wolfsbach followed . Parts of Essenbach and Kröning were later incorporated. From May 1, 1978 to December 31, 1979, the community belonged to the Wörth an der Isar administrative community ; since 1980 it has been a unitary community with its own administration.

Municipal coat of arms
The coat of arms, which has been in use since 1954, is divided diagonally by silver and blue, topped with a red diamond.
The municipal coat of arms corresponds to the ancestral coat of arms of the extinct Aichpeck family, who named themselves after their seat in Aichbach and can be traced as the manor from the middle of the 12th century to 1330. The coat of arms is handed down in the seal picture of Friedrich Aichpeck from 1319. Since the tinging is not known, the Bavarian state colors silver and blue were chosen as field colors for the municipal coat of arms as an indication that the Aichpeck were probably ministerials of the Bavarian dukes.

According to official statistics, there were 132 employees at the place of work in the manufacturing sector and 64 in the trade and transport sector. There were a total of 1,268 employees subject to social security contributions at the place of residence. There were none in the manufacturing sector and six in the construction sector.

The overall Baroque composition of the two-column high altar was essentially preserved. The altar panel is a painting of St. Nicholas of Myra in the Nazarenes style.
