history

Until the 19th century

Finds from the Neolithic and Bronze Age , including prehistoric burial mounds , illustrate the early settlement of the fertile area between the Isar valley and the Danube region. The history of the municipality begins with the conquest of the area south of the Danube by the Romans in 15 BC. The area of today's Weihmichl municipality belonged to the Roman province of Raetia for the next 500 years . A Roman road in Neuhausen and a paved Roman road in Weihmichl still testify to the presence of the Romans.

In the 8th century, the now Christianized country received a permanent church organization. Neuhausen has belonged to the Sankt Emmeram monastery in Regensburg since 814 , Weihmichl was classified as belonging to this monastery in 1256.

According to the place name, the first church was dedicated to St. Michael , because Old High German wih means "holy". The place first appeared in a document in 1060, when the noble Red Peru gave the court to Wihenmichel , which he had received on loan from the former Bishop Gebhard zu Eichstätt (since 1055 Pope Viktor II. ), To the local cathedral chapter.

In the last years of the Thirty Years' War , in 1646, 1647 and 1648, the places in what is now the municipality were devastated by mercenary troops under Swedish leadership.

The community has a predominantly agricultural structure with numerous medium-sized handicraft businesses. Many employees work as commuters in Landshut or Munich .

20th and 21st centuries

In December 1984 the multi-purpose hall at the school in Unterneuhausen was opened. The Weihmichl municipal adult education center has existed since 1996. The former school house in Weihmichl was completely renovated and reopened on June 1, 2001 in the presence of Minister of State Erwin Huber as the "House of Encounters". It houses the kindergarten and since September 2005 the library after the secondary school I was closed. In 2011 a crèche was added to the existing building.

The community of Stollnried was incorporated into the community of Neuhausen bei Landshut on July 1, 1972. On May 1, 1978, the previously independent community of Neuhausen bei Landshut came to the Weihmichl community.
