James Kwast
Jacob James Kwast (born November 23, 1852 in Nijkerk ( Netherlands ), † October 31, 1927 in Berlin ) was a Dutch-German pianist and music teacher .
Life
James Kwast taught piano at the Hoch Conservatory in Frankfurt am Main , later also at the Stern Conservatory and from 1902 to 1905 at the Klindworth-Scharwenka Conservatory in Berlin.
His first marriage was to Tony Hiller, a daughter of the composer Ferdinand Hiller . Kwast's daughter Mimi Kwast (1879–1926) married the composer Hans Pfitzner in 1899 , who was a student of James Kwast at the Frankfurt Conservatory from 1886 to 1890.
James Kwast married the pianist and Reger student Frieda Hodapp (1880–1949) for the second time .
He carried the Order for Art and Science of Mecklenburg-Strelitz .
