history

Until the church is planted

A place called Owe was first mentioned in 1280 , in 1332 the place name was Aewe , from which Au in 1395 and Postau in 1820 . The verifiable first owners of Au with the associated rights of lower jurisdiction were the Rechlinger. After the Hofmark Au was sold to Georgen von Staudach, the town became the property of the Staudacher in 1401/1402. The Staudacher ruled the village until around 1490. The Staudacher family were successively followed by the Egloffstein, Murcher, Kuttenauer, Ebleben and Pflug. According to a document dated April 24, 1559, Martin von Gumppenberg became lord of the Hofmark Au and Unholzing. After his death in 1561, the two sons of his deceased brother received the Hofmark Au and Unholzing. Benigna, a later heiress, sold Hofmark Au to Hans Trainer, a relative of the Gumppenberg family, in 1568. In 1592 Hans Ludwig Trainer sold it to Adam Vetter von der Gilgen. His daughter and heiress Anna Maria married Ferdinand Freiherr von Törring and Seefeldt in 1602. After the Thirty Years War , through the marriage of the heiress Mechtildis von Törring Au came under the rule of the Counts of Haunsperg . Leopold Reichsgraf von Arco married Countess Maria Febronia von Haunsperg, the heiress of all Haunsperg estates, in 1700, whereby the Hofmark Au came into the possession of the Counts von Arco . Around 1770, a carriol post was opened in Au for post, express mail and private vehicles. The mail wagons on the Landshut-Straubing line stopped in Au and changed horses in the post stable. This post stable, which was maintained for only a hundred years, meant that the name of the place was changed from Au below Landshut to Post-Au and later Postau . The place was part of the Electorate of Bavaria and formed a closed Hofmark, whose seat was Postau.

In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria , the municipality was created with the municipal edict of 1818 .

Administrative community

On May 1, 1978 the Wörth an der Isar administrative community was founded.
