history

Between 847 and 860 goods in Unholzing were exchanged by Bishop Erchanfried for goods in Paindlkofen at the St. Quirinus monastery in Tegernsee . The village church is dedicated to St. Quirinus back. The Rohr monastery also had possessions here from the 12th to 15th centuries. The Monumenta Boica , a collection on earlier Bavarian history, reports on a church in Unholzing in the 12th century. Already since 1438 Unholzing belonged to the parish Moosthann and thus also to the Inkuratbenefikum Postau founded in 1492 as a branch church.

In 1581 Unholzing was appointed Hofmark and was assigned to Adam Vetter von der Gilgen, curator of Mainburg and Bavarian Councilor President, at the same time as the Einaich wasteland. Since Vetter also bought the Hofmark Oberköllnbach in 1582 and expanded his property to include Armannsberg, Pram , Gerabach and other localities, Unholzing was now primarily associated with the owners of Oberköllnbach for a long time. The Adam Vetter was followed by marriage in 1692 by Ladislaus von Törring as lord of the court.

After the end of the Thirty Years War , the entire property was acquired by the Count von Haunsberg , whose only daughter Maria Febronia married Count Leopold von Arco in 1700. As a result, the Arco became court lords and court lords of Unholzing, although the obligations of certain courts to submit to the Tegernsee monastery continued to exist.

After the community was formed at the beginning of the 19th century, Unholzing was run as an independent community in 1833. The aristocratic jurisdiction of the Hofmark initially continued to exist as a patrimonial court until it was finally dissolved in 1848. In the course of the regional reform in Bavaria , the municipality of Unholzing came to the municipality of Postau on April 1, 1971.

In 1968 Unholzing was the location for the film Hunting Scenes from Lower Bavaria . Residents of the community appeared as amateur actors in the film.
