Martin Stosch (born July 30, 1990 in Landshut ) is a German pop singer . He became known to a wide audience as the runner-up in the fourth season of the casting show Deutschland sucht den Superstar (DSDS), which was broadcast on RTL from January to May 2007 . There he was defeated by Mark Medlock in the final .

Life

Stosch grew up with two sisters in Postau , in the Landshut district. He attended the state secondary school in Ergolding , which he left with middle school. Martin Stosch attended the state technical college in Landshut and left it in summer 2010 with the Abitur. He then completed a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering at the Landshut University of Applied Sciences .

Germany seeks the superstar

In September 2006 he took part in the casting show Deutschland sucht den Superstar in Munich and convinced the jury with his two songs Tears in Heaven by Eric Clapton and Wake Me Up When September Ends by Green Day . In the top 20 shows, after singing Home by Michael Bublé and Mandy from Westlife , he was also able to convince the audience who voted him into the motto shows. In the quarter-finals he was voted out by the spectators, but was then allowed to move up for Max Buskohl, who had voluntarily retired. In the final he was then defeated by Mark Medlock. The Power of Love sampler was created together with the other finalists . He sang If Tomorrow Never Comes by Garth Brooks and with the motto show finalists the interpretation Simply Reds If You Don't Know Me by Now . The album was released in March 2007 and climbed to number 3 in the German album charts.

After Germany Idol

After Deutschland sucht den Superstar , Stosch was quiet until November 2007. At the YOU fair in Berlin , he presented his single Zeit Meines Lebens, written by Harald Reitinger and Uli Fischer, which was released on January 11, 2008. This was followed by a nationwide promotion tour through department stores and electronics stores.

On February 21, 2008 Martin Stosch was in an edition of the ProSieben show Your Chance! 3 applicants - 1 job to be seen. The tour manager Matthias Reiter was found during this show.

On June 20, 2008, Martin Stosch's third single, Have You Found? . The song is a duet with Lisa Bund .

In December 2008, Stosch formed the formation RecAllstars with casting artists from pop stars, Deutschland sucht den Superstar, Star Search and Stefan Raab's Super Grand Prix Star . In addition to the version sung by all participating artists, the download single Christmas Time contains 14 other versions in which the song is interpreted by each artist in his own way. For the album Merry Christmas! Stosch contributed the song Christmastime .

Martin Stosch competed on April 19, 2009 in the TV cookery program The Perfect Celebrity Dinner against Alessandra Geissel (Misses Süddeutschland 2007 of the MGO), Artemis Gounaki and Ricky Harris .

After Stosch graduated from high school, he studied industrial engineering . Stosch lived in South Africa for half a year as part of his studies. In October 2014 he did his bachelor thesis in Oxford . Stosch has been working in planning at BMW in Landshut since the beginning of 2015 . With his ethno-funk band Tourists in a Daydream , Stosch released the single Quero Dançar in March 2015 and takes part in band contests. Tourists in a Daydream were able to prevail against four competitors in the Bluetone Band Contest and therefore played on July 5, 2015 at the Bluetone Festival in Straubing in the opening act of Andreas Bourani and Adel Tawil .

Debut album 7teen

Stosch released his debut album 7teen on April 18, 2008 (based on his age at the time), which was 82nd in the German album charts . The album was produced and written by Harald Reitinger and Ulrich Fischer. Exceptions are the cover version of Udo Lindenberg's Horizont and Stosch's DSDS final song I Can Reach Heaven from Here , which was written by the Swedish songwriter Jörgen Elofsson . His first two singles Time My Life and Don't Go Easy Away are included on the album. A fan-initiated campaign against violence ran for the second single .
