All-4-One is an American R&B group best known for their 1994 number one hit I Swear .

biography

The four vocalists Delious Kennedy (* December 2, 1973), Jamie Jones (* November 25, 1971), Tony Borowiak (* October 12, 1972) and Alfred Nevarez (* May 18, 1972) met and decided to meet in Los Angeles , with a cover version of the song So Much in Love by the Tymes to apply from 1963 when a local label. Blitzz Records signed her and released the song in late 1993. It immediately hit the top 5 of the US charts and achieved gold status .

As a second release, they recorded a soul pop version of the country hit I Swear by John Michael Montgomery . The song became a million-seller and, at 11 weeks, number 1 was the hit of the year in the US. I Swear was at the top of the charts in numerous countries around the world, including twelve weeks in Switzerland , nine weeks in Germany and eight weeks in Austria . At the Grammy Awards she was named the best pop performance of the year.

This was followed by the debut album, which bore the band name and was also very successful. It stayed in the US charts for almost a year and a half and was four times platinum for over four million units sold . The other singles Skillz and Breathless , however, could not achieve high placements.

The follow-up album And the Music Speaks was released just a year later . The pre-release I Can Love You Like That , again a cover version of a Montgomery hit, again reached number 5 and gold status in the USA. The album only reached number 27, but still sold over a million times. The album did not contain another hit.

Internationally, interest in All-4-One was already extinguished. In the USA a reasonably successful Christmas album followed. In addition, they had a single hit with the song Someday from the soundtrack of the 1996 film adaptation of The Hunchback of Notre Dame , which sold another half a million times.

Due to problems with their label, the third album On and On was released in 1998 and went largely unnoticed. Label changes and other unsuccessful releases followed. In the mid-2000s, Jamie Jones tried his hand at being a solo singer and producer. It wasn't until 2009 that the band got some success again with the album No Regrets , which was released on Peak Records. After all, it reached number 48 on the R&B charts and the song My Child also made it to the R&B charts.
