The Tymes
The Tymes was an American soul singing group that enjoyed success in both their homeland and the UK from the 1960s to 1970s .
Band history
The group was founded in 1956 in Philadelphia as "Latineers". Lead singer and head of the group was George Williams (born December 6, 1935 as George Reginald Williams Jr. in Philadelphia, † July 28, 2004 in Maple Shade, New Jersey ), the other members changed several times. Her first single , So Much in Love , became a number one hit on the US charts . After two more hits in 1963, Wonderful! Wonderful! and Somewhere , followed a relatively unsuccessful time before the group surprisingly also topped the UK charts in 1975 with the piece Ms. Grace .
In 2006, three of the original members tried to re-activate the group.
