Rockin 'All over the World is a rock song that became a hit in 1977 as a version by the group Status Quo .

The piece was written by John Fogerty and was his second single, released under his own name, which reached number 27 in the US and number 40 in the German charts in 1975.

Version of status quo

In September 1977 Status Quo released the piece as a single from their album Rockin 'All over the World on Vertigo Records ; it immediately became a huge success. The song reached number 3 on the charts in their home country Great Britain as well as in Switzerland and number 7 in Germany. The version of Status Quo includes two solos, the first played by Rick Parfitt and the second by Francis Rossi , as well as the typical piano intro by Andy Bown . The studio version is 3 minutes 33 seconds long.

In the version of Status Quo, the song was the opener of the Live Aid concert in 1985, as it represented the motto of the event.

Other versions

Rockin 'All over the World was also recorded by other groups such as the Georgia Satellites and Bon Jovi . While most cover versions are based on the recording of Status Quo, there are also versions that are closer to Fogerty's original version. Even Wolfgang Petry released a recording of this piece.
