Ricky Harris (born June 10, 1962 in Detroit , Michigan ) is an American presenter and actor who mainly works in Germany .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1980, Harris studied Telecommunications and Broadcasting through 1984 . He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts . In the mid-1980s Harris went to Germany and worked for various companies, mainly in the entertainment industry. He worked as an assistant to the company management and as marketing manager at Bang & Olufsen .

In the mid-1990s, he began his television career as a salesman at the shopping channel HOT. From 1999 to 2000, he hosted his own talk show called Ricky on Sat.1 ! Then Harris received various other television engagements. Among other things, he worked with Horst Fuchs and participated in his commercials with him. His strong American accent was always characteristic.

Harris worked as a consultant for the private radio station Muzak for years. In 2005 he took part as a candidate on the reality show Die Burg . Shortly after participating, he had to retire due to health problems.

Ricky Harris suffered from the chronic, presumably autoimmune kidney disease FSGS for years . The further progression of the disease could be stopped by the transplantation of a donor kidney. His sister Robin, who is one year older and lives in the USA, was able to provide a donor kidney. More months of treatments followed. In addition, during this time he separated from his wife, with whom Harris has three children.

In April 2009, Harris was chosen as the winner in an edition of the VOX program The Perfect Celebrity Dinner and donated the proceeds to charitable purposes in his adopted home Landsberg am Lech .

From 2008 to 2013 Harris worked as a lifeguard in a thermal bath in Bad Wörishofen, Bavaria . October 2014, he has been a presenter at the teleshopping transmitter 1-2-3.tv operates. He also works as a supervisor in the open all-day school at the Buchloe grammar school in Ostallgäu .

Ricky Harris is a passionate musician and has played a wide variety of instruments since childhood, including cello , piano and drums .

In January 2016 he took part in the tenth season of the RTL show Ich bin ein Star - Get me out of here! part and took eighth place. In March 2016, he then took part in the jungle special of the Perfect Celebrity Dinner . In April 2016 he took part in the big ProSieben Völkerball Championship 2016 .
