history

The former royal estate Golldaron , whose name goes back to the gold panning in the Isar , is mentioned as early as 916 when King Conrad I gave the cleric Erchanfried a chamber estate here. In a document dated July 13, 940, King Otto I gave Count Markward ten treasure houses. Between 994 and 1005 the extensive complex of goods was in the hands of Noble Ernst. Between 1022 and 1031 the "locus Goldaron" came to a non-free member of the Bamberg bishop's church with the name Gunthari.

The Goldern branch was detached from the Kirchberg parish in 1590 and subordinated to the Niederviehbach monastery, where it remained until the secularization of Bavaria in 1803. In the year of conscription in 1752 Goldern belonged to Hofmark Niederaichbach with thirteen properties . After the community was formed in the 19th century, Goldern became part of the community of Hüttenkofen and was the largest town in the community before the village of Hüttenkofen. Until 1860 there was a Romanesque church with a cemetery in the village. Bishop Riedl, who visited Goldern in 1849, made a drawing of this church with the date September 6, 1849. After its demolition, the current church was built in 1862.

The municipality of Hüttenkofen-Goldern had a so-called "talking" coat of arms. Among other things, it shows a gold-colored cross-striped river, meaning the gold-bearing Isar not far from the town. On January 1, 1971, Goldern and the dissolved municipality of Hüttenkofen became part of the municipality of Niederaichbach as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .
