Geography and transport links

The place is located southwest of the center of Pfeffenhausen on the LA 40. The B 299 runs a little further to the east . The Koppenwaller Bach has its source in the village ; it flows further east into the Große Laber .

history

A Freising document from 790 confirms that the priest Ekkihart donated his property in Waldiu to the cathedral in Freising. The current name Koppenwall did not emerge until after 1500. Around 1600 the cathedral monastery in Koppenwall still had a Sölde , which was attached to the local tavern .

Koppenwall gained a certain fame through the "slip altar" against back pain in the pilgrimage church of St. Korona. After a critical letter from Pastor Parzefahl von Pfaffendorf to the episcopal see , this custom was described as "nonsense" in the episcopal visitation protocol in 1836.

The municipality of Koppenwall was founded by the Bavarian municipal edict in 1818 and belonged to the district court of Rottenburg and later to the district office and district of Rottenburg an der Laaber . In 1920 the village consisted of 17 properties with 115 inhabitants. The municipality of Koppenwall was dissolved by the American military government at the end of 1945 and assigned to the municipality of Pfaffendorf . This went on May 1, 1978 in the course of the regional reform in Bavaria in the market Pfeffenhausen . In 2005 there were 20 properties with 99 residents in Koppenwall.
