Konrad Fahmüller

Konrad Fahmüller (born March 6, 1930 in Pfeffenhausen ; died August 7, 2012 in Neustadt an der Waldnaab ) was a German home nurse .

Life

education

In the 1950s he was trained as a forest assistant, completed a degree in agricultural engineering, worked as a vocational school teacher and finally as a teacher at the secondary school, most recently in the role of vice principal. Through these various activities, he gained insights into various fields of knowledge, such as archeology or Bavarian dialect research.

Act

For 39 years he was responsible for the northern district of Landshut as home curator and advised the monument protection authorities and the State Office for Monument Preservation . Through his work he saved many cultural assets from decay.

He was responsible for the Pfeffenhausen market archive, not only researching the history of the market, but also compiling family trees for many families and transcribing a large number of documents, recording them electronically and thus preserving them for future generations. In the dialect research he documented the typical dialect of the Hallertau . He collected the legends and ghost stories of the region and wrote them down.

His Stone Age finds from Pfeffenhausen, Oberlauterbach and Pattendorf can be seen in various museums.

In 2001 he directed the historical festival “600 Years of Market Seal and Market Coat of Arms Pfeffenhausen”.

family

He was married to Maria Fahmüller, had five daughters, a son and 25 grandchildren.

Honor

In 2012 Konrad Fahmüller was awarded the Federal Republic of Germany's Medal of Merit.
