Regine Martina Sauter (born April 16, 1966 ) is a Swiss politician ( FDP.The Liberals ).

education and profession

Sauter grew up in Flurlingen and attended the canton school in Schaffhausen . From 1986 to 1991 she studied political science at the University of St. Gallen . She received her PhD in 1995. In 2002, she received an Executive MBA in St. Gallen and Berkeley . Since July 2012 she has been the director of the Zurich Chamber of Commerce .

Engagements and political career

From 2006 to 2015, Sauter was President of the ProMobil Foundation for Disabled Transport in Zurich . Until 2012 she was a member of the board of directors of Forel Klinik , which specializes in the treatment of addictions. From 2008 to 2012 Sauter was President of the Swiss Diabetes Society and from 2008 to 2011 a member of the board of directors of the Zurich Women's Center . She was elected to the National Council in the 2015 federal elections in October .
