Katharina Prelicz-Huber (born October 12, 1959 in Bern ; resident in Meilen , Winterthur and Zurich ) is president of the VPOD union and a Swiss politician ( Greens ).

biography

Prelicz-Huber was a member of the Zurich City Council (Parliament) from 1990 to 2003 and of the Cantonal Council of the Canton of Zurich from 2002 to 2008 . On September 15, 2008, she replaced Ruth Genner , who had been elected to the Zurich City Council, in the National Council . She had a seat in the Grand Chamber until the Swiss parliamentary elections in 2011 and was a member of the Commission for Science, Education and Culture (WBK) . She has also been president of the VPOD union since 2010 . In 2014 she was re-elected to the Zurich municipal council for the Greens. On October 20, 2019, she was re-elected to the National Council .

The college lecturer, project manager and supervisor is married, has a son and lives in Zurich.
