Andri Silberschmidt (2019)

Andri Silberschmidt (born February 26, 1994 in Zurich ; entitled to live there ) is a Swiss politician and member of the National Council . He is a board member of the FDP Switzerland and a member of the parliament of the city of Zurich .

Life

In Zurich Oberland grown up Silberschmidt decided after the compulsory education for a banking apprenticeship with vocational diploma, which he graduated from 2009 until 2012. He then worked for the financial services provider Swisscanto and Zürcher Kantonalbank (ZKB) until 2019 , where he managed the quantitative funds for developing countries as a fund manager .

From 2013 to 2019 he studied business administration as a part-time job and graduated with a master's degree in global finance from the CASS Business School in London . Silberschmidt is co-founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of kaisin. , a catering company with branches in the cities of Zurich, Basel , Bern and Zug.

Silberschmidt lives in Zurich.

Political career

In 2011, Silberschmidt joined the Young Liberals . Shortly after joining, he founded the Jungfreisinnigen District of Hinwil , which he then presided over. In 2013 he took over the presidium of the Young Liberals of the Canton of Zurich . From March 2016 to November 2019, Silberschmidt presided over the Jungfreisinnigen Schweiz, with which he launched the so-called “Pension Initiative”.

Since spring 2018, Silberschmidt has represented District 7 & 8 of the City of Zurich in the Zurich City Council. With his first foray into the municipal council, which called for a simplification of the use of spaces, Silberschmidt won the first 5-to-12 prize for smart regulation , awarded by the think tank strategy Dialog21 and the Swiss Venture Club .

In the 2019 federal elections , Silberschmidt was elected to the National Council. At 25, he is the youngest elected national councilor in the 51st legislative period. Silberschmidt founded a non-partisan residential community in Bern with the two young national councilors Franziska Ryser (Greens) and Mike Egger (SVP).
